Welcome to Jacqui's creative world. I believe learning should be a joyful experience. Whether you're an individual or part of a group interested in felting classes, I'm happy to travel to your location for both one-off and consecutive sessions. Make a Basic Felt Hat

​This is a 5-hour hands-on workshop with Jacqui Collins, where students will create a basic felt hat from carded wool sliver to take home.  

There are different styles to choose from. A Beanie, a Ladies rounded crown with a brim, a Cloche, a Fedora, or a Trilby

The class is tailored for beginners, so no previous felting skills are required.

Felting Materials and table covers are supplied.

Each person requires the space of a full-sized trestle table (180cm long x 70cm wide) provided by the venue/group

Students will learn:

  • The process to make wet felt.

  • How to lay out wool in preparation for felting.

  • How to use a resist and make a felted seam.

  • How to make a rolled felt cord

  • How to block a felt hat

Make a Basic Felt Bag

​

This is a 5-hour hands-on workshop with Jacqui Collins, where students will create an embellished basic felt bag with a pocket, from carded wool sliver to take home.  The bag size is approximately 20cm x 16cm finished, with a felt button or dome closure, and a rolled felt cord cross-body or shoulder strap.​

The class is tailored for beginners, so no previous felting skills are required.

Felting Materials and table covers are supplied.

Each person requires the space of a full-sized trestle table (approx 180cm long x 70cm wide) provided by the venue/group.

Students will learn:

  • The process to make wet felt.

  • How to lay out wool in preparation for felting.

  • How to use a resist and make a felted seam and a pocket.

  • How to make a rolled felt cord.

  • How to make a felt button.

  • How to add additional colours and patterns.

Make a Nuno Felt Scarf 

This is a 3-hour hands-on workshop with Jacqui Collins, where students will create a Nuno felt frilly scarf to take home. Nuno felt, is felting onto fine woven fabric.

The finished scarf measurement is approximately 30cm x 112cm. (For longer scarves, 2 trestle tables end to end, per person would be required)

The class is tailored for beginners, so no previous felting skills are required.

Felting materials and table covers are supplied.

Each person requires the space of a full-sized trestle table (approx 180cm long x 70cm wide) + a small table space of about half a square metre, so that individual felting aids/tools are beside each student, (to be provided by the venue/group). Each person needs enough space to stand/sit at one end and one side of the table.

Students will learn:

  • The process to make wet Nuno felt.

  • How to lay out fine Merino wool onto silk fabric for felting

  • How to have a nice drape in the finished product
